Basic Polish Grammar

Basic Polish Grammar

Grammar is a very important part of the Polish language. In many cases, the meaning of a word or sentence or their context can only be made clear with the correct endings.

On the other hand, the syntax ie. the structure of a sentence is quite irrelevant in Polish grammar.

Love this website! I am bookmarking it and definitely will follow it. I just came back from an superintensive language course in Poland and I am very excited about the language learning and all of the resources. I’m glad I had the chance to go abroad though, I think learning the language from the natives and being surrounded by the language is perhaps the best way to catch it up!

    hey!
maybe you get somebody to help you with the cases? I really wish the other cases we’re updated too. the way you explained the instrumental is the best on all the internet!
    thank you so much!

    • Thanks for your compliment, I’m trying hard to make this site as useful as possible. Glad you like it!

I’m actually working on the translation of the grammar chapters right now. It’s a lot of stuff, more than 20.000 words to be exact 🙂 It might take a few more weeks till they’re online, so hold on just a bit longer. Hopefully you’ll find the new lessons as helpful as the one on the Instrumental case 🙂

      Kind regards!

    • Dear Dr. Ali Foda,

thank you very much for your helpful comment.

Based on your feedback and that of other visitors, we’re just preparing a newsletter series which will do exactly what you describe: Send out short lessons on a regular basis, covering topics such as vocabulary, grammar and useful tips for Polish language beginners.

We expect it to be ready around mid-2015.

      Kind regards

There’s an error in Conjugation of verbs. It should be jeść instead of jeśź.

    Thank you
    Sergei

    • Hey Sergei,

thanks a lot for your comment. I know that you and many other people are waiting for the grammar lessons, but unfortunately I don’t have the time to complete them at the moment. Please keep in mind that this is a private website I’m building in my free time after work and on weekends.

I hope I’ll find the time to translate the other lessons early next year. In the meantime, you could use Google Translate to translate the German version (http://mowicpopolsku.com/de/polnische-grammatik/). It’s not perfect, but it kind of works, at least.

Follow us on Facebook to get updates on new content and other interesting stuff.

      Kind regards,

      Tobi
